Up, up and away!

It's been a while I did not browse on Hot Chocolate & Mint. A blog own by a cute cheery Indonesia fashion blogger, Diana Rikasari. The last time I drop by ( or browse by ?? ) she was planning on online shop. And today  I saw an icon on her blog, her shoe shop iwearUP. Yay the shop has opened! ^.^

Oemgeee! her shoes collections are so adorable. I love it when she focusing on wedges. All girls can wear wedges, bet the short or tall girls, the one who scares to wear high heels or one who just want comfy & height.

You can't find any plain shoes selling in the shop. Every single of it has its own charm & uniqueness. I love all the design but I've to make it short. These are top 5 that catch my eyes =)

The price is very reasonable IDR 245000 (approximately RM82). They do ship international & payment can be made via Pay-Pal or Western Union. Great news to those who have Cimb Clicks or PBebank, Western Union is just a click away :)

p/s: new blog header still not done yet :(

Sharing is caring..do you care about me?

I just uploaded a picture on MOSAIC. What is MOSAIC? MOSAIC is a part of Discovery Channel's latest series of Living Cities-Singapore. It's a interactive canvas where a picture was made by thousands of pictures uploaded. Quite an interesting way of getting to know Singapore through all those pictures. You may have heard that a picture speaks a thousand words. Well that exactly what mosaic is.

To make it more interesting they're holding a weekly contest. It's so easy. Just upload a photo of Singapore and the photo with the most number of "Likes" per week, wins a Canon PowerShot S95 worth US$450.

All pictures must be submitted no later than 23 Jan 2011 at 23:59 (GMT +8:00). Yeap it's closing tonight. Not much time left to get many votes. What the heck I just love sharing and sharing is caring. So that makes me a caring person and caring person is the most lovely person on the earth...I'd better stop there hehe..

This is the link to my picture. If you are a caring person & care about me, do like my picture ^.^

I vote cuz I care! (click, click here bebeh!)

This is the winning picture ;p

Kepala blog baru

Header saya sangat comel kan? ( perasan habis ;p ) Tapi saya rasa it's time for new header. New year, new header. Header macaron tu masa saya baru discover what macaron is. Excited sesangat dengan macaron's cuteness. Comel sangat dengan bite-size dia & kaler2 dia. Masa beli rasa macam sayang nak makan ( mahal wooo sebijik rm2 tau, kecik cinonet je).

Pic kat atas tu jumpa kat some artsy website yang offer free download ( sorry dah lupe kat mana, saya ni pelupa sikit) Saya edit sikit2 to personalise it. Dah 6 months pic tu kat atas so rasanye macaron tu pun dah basi. It's time to get revamp.

Tapi kan takde idea lagi what kinda of design to put up there huhuhu... which colour scheme to use? pastel again? or neon? pink honeysuckle tu pon sweet gak & it is the colour for 2011. Yang penting it must look fresh. I don't like something from the underworld. Positive vibe is all I need.

Itu colour scheme, which object pula nak ganti macaron tu? flowers? rabbits? oh this year tahun arnab, cute jugak kalau letak rabbit. ^.^ Or self potrait ? Oh taknak taknak, malu malu..saya tak cun. Nanti ramai pulak yang puke bukak blog saya.

Alangkah bestnyer kalo ada orang tolong pikirkan & designkan for me. Tau2 dah ada kat atas tu hahaha..berangan tak abes2. Oklah dari merepek2 lagi, it's better for me off to get some inspirations & ideas for the header.

Hmmmmmmm idea idea idea idea...

some of the inspirations..

Singapore : Day 1 Part 2

Okay now for part 2 of day 1. After we got on bus, off we go to our neighbour country, Singapore. Immigration process again before entering Singapore. Staff of the lane I chose was not fussy even though I did not complete the form. She's friendly & even waited for me to fill in few columns. I would say she very much looks like Angelica Lee Sinje, Malaysian actress in Hong Kong. Unlike my other friends who chose old lady lane, they were asked for their IC. Tips: always choose young immigration staff lane to avoid fussiness lol!!!

After all the processes, the bus fetch us on the other exit. We arrived at the Queen Street bus terminal in about 20minutes later. Arab street is just walking distance from the bus terminal. Once at the Arab Street we were amazed by rows of fabric shops. Each shop displayed beautiful laces in many designs & colours. The price is a bit cheaper than in KL where you can get nice lace design at SGD50 per meter. If you are good at haggling you might get it for lesser price. We didn't  buy any fabrics, we were just browsing & feasting our eyes with all the luscious laces :)

After our eyes have been feasted, it's now for tummy to get a nice feast. We found Zam Zam Restaurant that is famous with its murtabak. The small size ( which is not small !) priced at SGD6.  I don't know if it's the restaurant rules or it's just the culture in Singapore that for any add on orders, you have to order with the same waiter. Nevermind coz the murtabak tasted good & full of chunky chicken. I guess the good foods that made the shop last for more than 100 years.

Then we planned to see the Merlion statue. It is a must DO thing for every tourist. We walked about 200m to the nearest MRT at Bugis Village. We bought tickets to Raffles Place which cost us SGD2. However SGD1 can be redeemed when you return the ticket at ticket machine. From there we walked by all the skyline buildings. after some camwhoring here & there, finally we arrived at Merlion area. Not that far from the huge colonial Fullerton hotel. there is actually under bridge lane at one of the junction that leads to the Merlion. Nice wood patch floor with some greens & couple of cafes played some jazz song facing the lake. the ambiance was relaxing.

You don't have to cross the wide road.

Lots of people were flocking at the Merlion area. Snapping picture or just simply gazing & enjoying the breezy evening. Merlion was not the only attraction there. opposite the statue there is the new talkabout building. The huge Marina Bay Sands ; a casino, hotel, shopping & dining place. The architecture is hmmm... well I find it weird. It looks like a ship stuck on 3 skyscrapers. Was the architect trying to imitate Noah's Ark??? Still the view is a breath taking ( well any huge buildings will take my breath away ).

The day was getting darker and we proceed to stroll down the nearby streets. We passed by a lovely Fullerton waterboat house/restaurant, there was a white themed party on the rooftop. Next to it is a Anderson Bridge decorated with red light underneath it. After we passed some quiet streets, we found a huge grey gloomy & scary colonial building which I'm not mistaken is the City Hall. Why do I say it scary? the building was dark, no lights on not even on the hallway. The kind of building you would see in Gotham City.

Tired of walking we decided to go to Mustafa, a 24hours shopping center located at Little India if I'm not mistaken. Boy there were so many kind of things & so many people. It was hard to walk without bumping on other's shoulder. You can find all kind of chocolates, cosmetics, jewellery, pharmacy, electronics/digital items, watches & many more. The jam packed place gave me a headache that I didn't enjoy much shopping there. Too bad as I was interested to browse the variety of cosmetic on shelves. Before we walked out of the store I managed to bought 3 packs of mini Tolberone chocolates.

Off we went back to Resort World Sentosa to catch our bus back to JB. We didn't want the same afternoon incident happen to us and so we arrived at RWS 30minutes before the bus is scheduled. Back in JB, we realized that we haven't had dinner yet. With starving tummy & tired feet, we droved to the nearest restaurant to the hotel, Singgah Selalu. Well it's more like a food court with lot of stalls around it. The food was so-so but the environment was great. Lights, loud music &  huge crowd. Hmm why do I described it like a club haha.... Tummy has been filled, body was tired we went back to hotel to have a good nite sleep to recharge ourself for more exciting experience on the next day.

Airasia plane skidded off runway

Many have heard the news of Airasia skidded off the runway as it landed at Kuching International Airport. It was happened on Monday night during heavy rain. Due to that incident the airport was temporarily closed till the following night.

Although no passenger with serious injury ( 4 passengers were sent to Sarawak General Hospital) I'm sure the passengers were badly shaken with the experience, not to mention they were waiting over an hour at the grass verge in heavy downpour with women and children. Poor them, help was late & insufficient. Airasia buckle up! you'd better spend millions on safety instead of advertisement.

Here some pictures of the mishap ;

*I wonder how come such incident did not make into the next morning newspaper ???? hmmm...

Budget trip to Singapore: Day 1 part 1

As promised here is the next entry of my recent Singapore trip. It was a short one, mere like a weekend escapade. I went there with Mariam (my 'ol uni friend), Hanim ( Mariam's housemate) and Aizat ( Mariam colleague)

7 Jan 2011, Friday:
We met up in Subang. The plan was to begin travel at 8am but due to massive bad traffic at KESAS, we started late at 9.30am. Our F1 driver for this trip is Mariam's colleague, Aizat. We managed to arrive safely in JB after 3 hours journey. Way to go Aizat!!

We found our hotel for 3days stay in Danga Bay area. It's Tune Hotel. Good choice for budget traveller like us. The rate is so affordable yet it still provide adequate comfort level. Twin bed room rate only cost you RM66/day 3days. Of course like its LCC airlines, there is other add on cost; they are air-cond, breakfast set, toiletries+towel, hair dryer, in room wifi, safe box & tv to choose from. You may not need all the add ons, to me hair dryer & toiletries are just enough. Don't worry about air-cond or tv because there is a ceiling fan & you won't stay long in the room.

The downside of Tune hotel are the add ons, small spaces and late check in time at 2pm & early check out time at 10am.
Thumb ups : comfort bed, clean, lift service, 24 hours security & heated power shower :)

our hotel booking
nice deco ( minus the cracker advertisement)
the add on toiletries & rental towel. the box that looks like passport contained a small bottle of shokubutsu shower cream.

Scroll down for some better pictures from the website Tune Hotel.com

If you notice in our hotel booking, we also book return ticket for coach ride to Singapore. There is 2 destinations/pickup points can be choose from; Marina Bay & Resort World Sentosa Island(RWS). Marina Bay if you want to go to Merlion Park ( the lion statue) or RWS if you want to go to Universal Studio. It cost you RM23 if book from internet, normal price is RM25. Departing from Tune Hotel is at 7.30AM, 10.30AM & 2.00PM. The one we booked on the net is for the 2nd day, Saturday.

It is always advisable for you to book the coach ride far in advance to avoid tickets sold out. Do always check your ticket to avoid confusion on travel time because the bus won't wait long for late turn up. Well that's what happened to us on the 1st day. It was miscommunication issue. Since we arrived JB quite early, 12.30noon, we decided to go into Singapore in the afternoon. We planned to buy tix to Marina Bay which leaving at 2.30pm but it was sold out. Only Resort World Sentosa destination available for afternoon schedule. And so we bought it. Am sure that counter boy did told us the bus will leave at 2.00pm sharp but we kept thinking it would leave at 2.30pm without even study the ticket. We still can use the ticket for returning from Singapore. Lesson learned, always study your ticket :)

After been left by the coach bus & cursing the ticket boy, we asked Tune Hotel receptionist for alternative way to get into Singapore. So we called a taxi to drive us to JB cental. It cost us RM15.50 :( We have to go through Malaysia immigration counter first and then we can take a bus to Singapore. It was a long walking distance to the immigration area. After the scanning process we went downstairs to take a public bus to Queen Street which cost only RM2. Oh ya we planned to go to Arab Street first which is just a walking distance from Queen Street and it's famous with rows of fabric shops.

Okay that's a long post for hotel & transport. I will continue on our 1st day experience in Singapore in the next entry :)

Goodbye Singapore, Hello Malaysia

Yeah home sweet home! There is no place like home. I Just came back from a short-budget trip to Singapore. Exhausted but it was fun. Will blog more in the next entry. In the meantime have a sneak peek of few pictures from the trip :)
